More work acquired from the nice folks over at Cubed3 has landed a surprisingly fun little game in my lap recently. Super Exploding Zoo from Honeyslug, creators of Hohokum, brought more to the table than seemingly possible upon first glance.

Colorful and playful but lacking in any real depth, it felt like a mobile game at first. Playing through the game exposed a pleasant game-play loop that, eventually, became extremely addicting. A personal note that couldn’t be mentioned in the review: There was even a moment when my roommate came in, glanced at the screen and watch for a bit. Eventually, he sat down and we ended up screaming at the TV as aliens crowded to close for comfort around my defenseless eggs (game premise is explained in the review). There’s a lot of fun to be had with this little game and it shouldn’t be underestimated.
